• Could you please recommend heat-protection fabric for welding protection?
A: We have several types of fabric for heat-protection purpose, but for welding blankets we’d like to recommend G-Tec fabrics or high-silica fabrics e.g. HS1250AR (only vermiculite coated) or HS1250AR-Alufix (vermiculite coated with 1-side Alufix). Theses recommended fabrics are abrasive resistant and widely used for welding protection fabrics (up to 1,000 °C).

• What makes aramid-fiber fabric different from fiberglass fabric?
A: Aramid-fiber fabric is lighter and stronger than fiberglass fabric (similar thickness). Also, aramid fiber has more capability of abrasive resistance compare to glass fiber. Its downside is service temperature which is 350 °C while general fiberglass fabric is 550 °C. More important, aramid fiber is non-itchy fabric and less dust when cutting or fabricating.
